Gryphon Audio To Debut New Antileon Revelation Power Amplifier

Gryphon Audio takes its original Class-A amplifier, first introduced with the DM100 and furthered with the Antileon concept, to new heights with the new Antileon Revelation power amplifier.

Debuting at High End Munich 2025, the Antileon Revelation marks 30 years of the ‘Antileon’ nomenclature and coincides with Gryphon Audio’s 40-year anniversary. The new amplifier is aesthetically a subtle refinement of its EVO predecessor. Stylistically, the Revelation amplifier features a Gryphon “sculpture” which has been precision machined from aluminium and placed on the amplifier’s top plate. Plus, judging from early images, the twin slabs flanking the control panel seem to be constructed from thick, solid aluminium rather than the traditional black acrylic.

The circuitry changes would seem more profound, as are the connectivity options. For starters, the Antileon Revelation ups its power output capabilities from the EVO’s 150 watts to 165 watts per channel at 8 ohms. The Revelation monoblock version ups the ante from 175 watts to a more subtle 180 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Output impedance is 0.04 ohms (0.02 ohms for the monoblock version). Gain remains at a high 31dB, which makes the Antileon Revelation suitable to run with passive preamplification or via a direct feed from a volume-controllable digital-to-analogue converter. Ideally, of course, the Antileon Revelation should be matched to an appropriate Gryphon Audio preamplifier.

The output devices have trickled down from Gryphon Audio’s magnificent Apex flagship amplifier. They now number 40 Toshiba high-current bipolar transistors while the capacitor bank has been increased from a total of 667,000 micro-farads to 670,000 micro-farads. Being a dual-mono design, the stereo Antileon Revelation houses two high quality toroidal transformers, each rated at 1.15 KVA. A dedicated power supply is said to power the digital control systems.

The rear panel’s socket options now feature Gryphon Audio’s new proprietary speaker binding posts (an improvement on the previous type which were also exceptional), and dual 20-amp AC sockets. Yes, the Antileon Revelation is, as per its predecessors, a true dual-mono design.

Gryphon Audio will be demonstrating the Antileon Revelation amplifier at High End Munich 2025 at the company’s exhibit in Atrium 4.1, Room E120.
