In an effort to cater to the requirements of somewhat smaller listening environments, relative to the demands of the monumental Divin Majestic flagship, German loudspeaker specialist Göbel High End has launched the new spare-no-expense Divin Monarque loudspeaker system.
The new Divin Monarque is referred by Göbel High End as its new “ultra high end” loudspeaker, slated to be shown for the first time at High End Vienna 2026. The Divin Monarque employs Göbel High End’s advanced driver, crossover and cabinet technologies in a form factor reminiscent of the company’s Divin Majestic flagship in a marginally reduced physical architecture.
The Divin Monarque is a passive 3-way “symmetrical” bass reflex design engineered according to Göbel’s (for short) preferred high sensitivity methodology. Also a Göbel design aspect is the “acoustically optimized” constrained-layer damping, massively braced, resin-bonded composite enclosure construction materials aimed at eliminating vibrational distortions that can potentially lead to coloured sonic performance.

The sculpted cabinet architecture is narrower where the tweeter and midrange drivers are mounted in an effort to provide enhanced dispersion properties. The enclosure also features in-built Helmholtz resonators designed to control internal air flow, while the front baffle is constructed from a special aluminium alloy machined into varying thicknesses of up to 105 mm. The rest of the cabinet is finished in “real piano lacquer” black combined in parts with a “skin” of ultra matt velvet, while the aesthetics are enhanced with highlights in gold leaf. Custom finishes are provided on request.
Göbel employs a modified AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter which is coupled to a “massive” wave guide featuring a proprietary curve progression (flare profile). In an over-and-under D’Appolito configuration, two 200 mm (8 inch) proprietary drivers provide the midrange frequencies. The low frequencies are handled by two 380 mm (15 inch) woofers, one placed at the cabinet’s top and one at its bottom. The section of the cabinet which houses the woofers is substantially larger than the rest of the enclosure in an effort to extend low frequency bandwidth.
Göbel specifies the Divin Monarque with a frequency response spanning from 21 Hz to 24 kHz (no parameters given), while efficiency is said to be 96 dB at 1 watt/1m. System impedance is 4 ohms nominal while minimum impedance is given as 3.2 ohms at 64 Hz. Each speaker weighs in at 380 kg and is shipped in a professional flight case on casters.

Göbel High End company founder Oliver Göbel told SoundStage! Australia, “… the new Divin Monarque is a product of the finest German engineering, executed with absolute passion in all details and completely produced to the pinnacle of perfection in Germany.” Göbel went on to state, “Our goal is to really bring the music alive! That is, and always has been the passion behind all our efforts, research and technologies: To manufacture real statement products, which bring the ultimate real emotional music experience!
