UK speaker manufacturer Harbeth has celebrated its 40th Anniversary in the loudspeaker manufacturing business by releasing a stream of ‘Limited Edition’ models, the latest two additions being the M30.2 and flagship M40.2 speakers announced recently at High End Munich.

The new speakers will feature a number of improvements over the standard versions, including WBT NextGen binding posts, a modified tweeter with new protective grille, British-made Harbeth high quality poly capacitors and Harbeth special anniversary ultra-pure OFC copper internal wiring. We’re told minor tweaks have been applied to the crossover circuit too. The new ‘Limited Edition’ speakers will also sport a new ‘iridescent silver eucalyptus veneer’ in Harbeth-speak, a finish that even in photographs (image shown) looks arrestingly beautiful.

While specifications will be along the lines of the current standard versions, added cosmetic differentiation – aside from the silver eucalyptus veneer – will be via the distinguishable (and rather distinguished) Harbeth 40th Anniversary limited edition front and back badges and a new magnetic anniversary grille badge. A matching walnut stand will also available.

Alan Shaw, designer and managing director, says, “This is a very significant year for us as a brand and as part of the celebrations felt the time was right to update our M30.1 model. We're passionate about designing products that not only ensure you enjoy your music to full effect but also feel very special, hence the exceptional silver eucalyptus veneer and features chosen for this next phase of our 40th anniversary.”

The new speakers are expected to ship to Australia shortly and will be available for audition soon.
